About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead service operations for a well-established company in the commercial boiler and burner industry. This position oversees the performance of the Service, Parts, and Warehouse teams-driving safety, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability across all field operations.

Compensation
Base Salary: $150,000-$170,000 (commensurate with experience)
Additional Incentives: Performance-based bonuses and growth opportunities
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of field technicians, coordinators, and warehouse personnel with clear goals and ongoing coaching
Manage daily scheduling and dispatch to maximize utilization and customer responsiveness
Oversee safe, high-quality startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service for commercial boiler and burner systems
Drive growth in service contracts, aftermarket parts, and customer relationships in partnership with sales leadership
Monitor KPIs for profitability, response time, and first-visit resolution-taking timely action to meet targets
Standardize procedures for dispatch, documentation, and job closeout to improve consistency and turnaround time
Identify training needs and coordinate technical and safety programs for the team
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure seamless communication and service delivery
Collaborate with internal departments on accurate billing, cost control, and project reporting
Promote and enforce safe work practices, partnering with safety leadership to meet OSHA standards
Recruit, retain, and mentor service team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Field labor utilization consistently meeting or exceeding targets
On-time service response and zero unaddressed customer commitments
Preventive maintenance programs completed on schedule
Reduced callbacks and higher first-visit resolution rates
Team certifications and safety compliance fully maintained
Monthly service and parts performance hitting revenue and margin goals
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent technical experience
10+ years of field service experience with fuel-fired boiler, burner, and combustion control systems
3+ years of leadership experience managing a service or maintenance team
Strong planning and dispatch coordination skills with attention to operational detail
Excellent communicator with technicians, customers, and vendors
Proven ability to develop people, resolve issues, and lead by example
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to travel to customer sites across NYC Metro and Westchester
Preferred Experience
Experience with Cleaver Brooks or comparable manufacturers
Background in service contracts, parts operations, or warehouse leadership
Familiarity with CRM and dispatch management systems and KPI tracking tools
