Collections Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor resident ledgers to identify delinquent accounts and ensure timely follow-up.
• Initiate and manage repayment plans in line with HUD/LIHTC regulations.
• Communicate professionally with residents to resolve outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with property managers and compliance teams on eviction prevention and resident retention strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities in Yardi, RealPage, or equivalent property management software.
• Generate regular collection and delinquency reports for leadership.
• Support audits and compliance reviews as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or property management (affordable housing experience strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of fair housing laws and affordable housing program requirements (HUD, LIHTC, Section 8).
• Proficiency with Yardi, RealPage, or other property management/accounting systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive resident interactions with empathy and professionalism.

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $50,000 and $60,000 annually.
