Estimator - Structural and Miscellaneous Steel

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate steel cost estimates for commercial construction projects including schools, office buildings, warehouses, and public infrastructure
• Analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and scope documents to assess material, labor, and equipment needs
• Use digital tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Takeoff, Excel) to perform take-offs and compile bid packages
• Track bid results and assist in pricing strategy discussions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and stakeholders
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed
• Respond to RFIs, clarify scope, and support negotiations to help win work
• Collaborate with purchasing and project management to support seamless project transitions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience estimating structural and/or miscellaneous steel projects
• Strong understanding of construction documents, material take-offs, and steel detailing
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Takeoff, and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication, organization, and client relationship skills
