Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor that has been building commercial environments since 1987. Operating across 27 states, they specialize in high-performance interior builds for retail, medical, and health & fitness clients - delivering accelerated timelines without sacrificing quality. Their project portfolio includes full-space interior buildouts, ground-up construction, multi-location rollouts, and complex MEP coordination for some of the country's most recognizable brands.

They are seeking a Mid-Level Estimator to join their Garden City, NY headquarters and play a key role in preconstruction across their core market sectors.

What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial interior projects including retail, medical, and health & fitness buildouts
• Estimate ground-up construction scopes including site development, shell & core, MEP undergrounds, and exterior facade systems
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop thorough bid packages across all trades
• Solicit, level, and analyze subcontractor and vendor bids
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams during preconstruction to support value engineering and budget alignment
• Maintain standardized estimating processes across multiple concurrent projects and geographies
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps and risk
• Support proposal development and client presentations with accurate, well-organized cost data

What They're Looking For

• 4-8 years of estimating experience with a general contractor, ideally in commercial interiors
• Direct experience estimating retail, medical/clinical, and health & fitness project types strongly preferred
• Exposure to ground-up construction scopes including MEP, site work, and shell & core
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, MEP, and structural drawings
• Experience with full-space interior buildouts from demolition through final finish
• Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar); Excel required
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under deadline pressure
• Strong communication skills for subcontractor outreach, scope review, and internal collaboration
