Project Manager, Commercial Interiors Construction, NYC

Pay: $130,000 - $170,000 base plus annual bonus
A growing commercial general contracting and construction management firm in the New York City area is hiring a Project Manager to run commercial interior construction and tenant improvement projects, typically $2M to $15M, across the tri-state market. The firm specializes in high-end interior renovations and fit-outs for corporate, financial, retail, and institutional clients, and closed out 2025 as its strongest revenue year to date.
Responsibilities
- Run commercial interior and tenant improvement construction projects start to finish: preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, execution, closeout
- Own project budgets, cost forecasting, billing, and change order coordination
- Act as the main point of contact for owners, tenants, architects, and landlord representatives
- Coordinate subcontractor agreements and day-to-day field issues
- Supervise Assistant Project Managers and Superintendents on assigned projects
- Build and maintain project schedules and track critical path
- Ensure compliance with NYC DOB requirements, local building codes, and site safety programs
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and closeout documentation in Procore or equivalent software
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience
- 3+ years specifically on interior fit-out, tenant improvement, or renovation projects in the NYC metro market
- Track record managing projects in the multi-million-dollar range from start to finish
- Working knowledge of NYC Building Code and DOB filing processes
- Proficiency with Procore or comparable project management software
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
Preferred
- OSHA 30 certification, or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Experience running multiple projects concurrently across different sites
Compensation and Benefits
