Technical Sales Engineer, Industrial Boiler Systems & Aftermarket Services

An established, employee-owned leader in industrial boiler services is hiring a Technical Sales Engineer to grow its Aftermarket Parts and Service division across Manhattan and the NYC metro area. You'll partner with field technicians to identify opportunities, develop technical solutions, and manage projects from quote through completion for industrial and commercial clients. This is a hybrid, consultative sales engineering role with field visits throughout the week and work-from-home Fridays, backed by uncapped commission and real earning upside.

Responsibilities

• Visit industrial and commercial facilities throughout Manhattan to identify service and aftermarket opportunities
• Develop technical solutions for boiler repairs, upgrades, and maintenance projects
• Review mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to prepare accurate proposals
• Support field technicians with same-day quotations while onsite
• Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
• Negotiate service agreements and oversee projects from proposal through completion
• Coordinate with service, scheduling, purchasing, and project management teams to ensure successful execution
• Identify opportunities for larger capital equipment projects and collaborate with the sales team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, industrial estimating, or service engineering
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
• Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills

Preferred

• Experience with industrial boilers, steam systems, combustion equipment, HVAC, or other industrial mechanical equipment

Compensation and Benefits

• $80,000 - $100,000 base salary
• $250,000 on-target earnings (OTE), uncapped commission - top performers have earned $200,000+ in commission alone
