Position Overview:

A large, Growing Construction Management firm based in Newark, NJ, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Project Accountant with at least two years of experience within the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial aspects of all construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, particularly with AIA billing procedures.

Responsibilities:

·Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for construction projects.

·Monitor project costs and expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

·Collaborate with project managers to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.

·Prepare and review project financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

·Assist in preparing project proposals and cost estimates in compliance with AIA billing procedures.

·Conduct financial analysis and risk assessment for construction projects.

·Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations in the construction industry.

·Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to construction projects.

·Assist with audits and internal controls as needed.

Qualifications:

·Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·Minimum of 2 years of experience in project accounting within the construction industry.

·Experience with AIA billing procedures is required.

·Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Procore, Vista, Sage).

·Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.

·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·CPA or relevant certification is a plus.

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $75000 and $90000 annually.

The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
