Our client is a New York-based General Contractor. They are looking to add an Accounts Receivable Specialist to their team. The ideal candidate will have experience within the construction industry.
Create invoices for multiple entities with similar services.
Monitor the status of existing projects in the accounting system.
Effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional service related to billing.
Compile, analyze, & process a high volume of project bills to clients every month.
Work closely with project managers to ensure that invoices are accurate and comply with corporate guidelines.
Review weekly field timesheets to ensure they have been submitted and approved before invoicing.
Coordinate with subcontractors to receive certified payroll reports.
Maintained project billing folder and accounting system (SAGE300 & PROCORE) to ensure all invoices and other project-related documents were readily accessible for project managers & accounting department.
Communicate professionally with project managers, clients, and other staff, providing accurate information and timely responses to inquiries and completing assignments.
Investigate billing errors and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare various monthly billing & supporting reports.
Monitor accounts & take appropriate actions with customers to arrange for payment, issue monthly statements & billing items as per proposals.
Reviews and ensures the accuracy of vendor invoices before billing clients.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a similar field.
1-3 years of billing experience in Construction contracting related industries
AIA experience preferred
NYC and NYS Agency billing preferred
Sage 300 & PROCORE experience preferred
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Outlook, E-Filing, scanning, and mailing.
The fair market assumption for this role is $70,000-$80,000
