Project Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage all aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition.

* Support the preparation of the annual budget and forecast (net fee projections)

* Maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulations, and serve as a liaison for external auditors/accountants.

* Manage aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable.

* Manage daily cash management activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and 2-5 years in corporate or project-based Accounting in the Architecture or Engineering

* Direct project accounting experience, setting up projects in the accounting system on a percentage completion basis, time & material (T&E), and tracking client-approved fees.

* Monthly client billing, experience using Ajera accounting system, E-Builder, PMWEB, SCA portal, and Passport preferred.

* Must be able to perform financial analysis, create reports, and prepare internal financial statements for management or financial institutions as needed.

* Expertise in bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations, and account reconciliations is required

* Must have experience with the financial closing process, assist with various accounting and administrative duties based on the firm's current established processes, as delegated by the Controller

* Must have strong analytical abilities to identify financial trends, investigate variances, and resolve accounting issues.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for collaboration with colleagues and presenting financial information to management.
